Last time, I mentioned that merely filing your corporation/limited liability name with the Idaho Secretary of State is not enough.   You want to protect that name as much as possible.  Naturally, before you select the name, you want to research name availability, not just in Idaho but elsewhere.  There are simple forms you can file at the Idaho Secretary of State that can provide modest/partial in state protection. 

In the last 25 years, “intellectual property” has greatly expanded.
