WHY YOU CARE THAT I (AS YOUR HATED LAWYER) REMAIN INVOLVED IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS. [or, NO WALL FLOWERS/COUCH POTATOES ALLOWED]

SKEET

The Idaho State Bar Association’s Business and Corporate Section’s Governing Council meets at least nine times per year. Although competitors, our members share information about trends in the law and other information designed to help our clients in their business pursuits. We also participate in frequent presentations from experts in various business and corporate fields, not just in law. Typically, we receive legislative updates and insights.

In my Chamber of Commerce Committee and other service work, I stay attuned (in tune?) to the business community activities and learn about developments and plans that affect businesses and their pursuits.
These activities also promote my networking with many varieties of businesses throughout the valley and beyond.
I also dedicate spare time to trends in contract and related legal document drafting.

“Oh hated lawyer,… So What?”

It is not always enough for your benefit for me to stay on top of the laws, legal developments from the courts and the judicial cases that reach the courts. (Naturally, I endeavor to do so as well.)

You want me to stay involved so that I have as good of pulse on the business community as possible. You want me to know who the “movers and shakers” may be around the business and corporate community. As a business person yourself, you want your lawyer to continually seek information, to continually pursue his knowledge base and to keep a pulse on local enterprises, plans and whatever else he can to further help understand your concerns and to assist in addressing your needs.
