IS IT OKAY TO HATE MY LAWYER? SERIES CONTINUES.

HAS ANYONE EVER READ THEIR “TERMS OF USE” AGREEMENTS?

Not me. Oh hated lawyer, why not? There are many reasons. One is because it makes no difference if I want their service/product. This electronic age has allowed these companies to crush us with their “adhesion” contracts. Traditionally, adhesion contracts were the type that gave you no bargaining power with the other side. Sometimes (after litigation hassles), you could challenge provisions that were overbearing. How times have changed.

Yet, terms of use agreements should be read. There can be privacy concerns. There can be jurisdictional concerns. (See previous posts on this jurisdiction” topic There could be terms to which you may ultimately say, “I do not want to allow the other side to be able to monitor me like this. The product is not worth it.” Therefore, please READ them the Terms of Use “Agreements”!

As an example, have you ever checked out Facebook’s “terms?” It is 3,516 words long! It puts responsibilities on you! So, the next time you log on to their site, do you truly understand all of your responsibilities just to hang out on Facebook or other similar sites?

BE CARFUL OUT THERE!
